'Peep'

Peep is an exploration of voyeurism, censorship, and the gaze.

It wishes to challenge the notion of what is appropriate to look at, and whether this level of appropriation is heightened by its inclusion in a gallery space. Do we make it acceptable to voyeuristically view seemingly perverse images if we place them within a viewing context? Images that are predominantly 'private' being brought, perhaps without permission, into the public realm.

It hopes to question the concept of authorship and the viewers gaze – is it more or less acceptable to be viewing these women unawares if the audience is predominantly female? Or indeed, if the photographer is a women herself?
